i am a photographer, artist, educator and mom based in NJ
I was born in Iowa, raised in Ohio, and spent eight formative years making photographs in Indiana. I construct scenes for the camera and document my immediate surroundings, often against the background of motherhood and my Evangelical past. Presently, I am attracted to the animacy of objects and the intersection of photographs and sculpture. I received my MFA in Studio Art from Rutgers University and a BS in Photography from Indiana Wesleyan University. I was the recipient of a 2024 New Jersey Council on the Arts fellowship, and in June 2025, I was the Photographer in Residence with Worthless Studios. I am a part-time lecturer at Rutgers and Middlesex.

This photograph was taken in April 2025 in Marion, Indiana, by my daughter, Iris (9). Our first road trip together and pilgrimage to the place she was born and where I became an artist. I am grabbing the 4x5 before we set up on the shore of the Mississinewa River.
